Code of Conduct
Our most important goal at Las Positas is to establish and maintain a safe, healthy and positive learning community. The entire staff works at setting high academic and behavior standards. We expect all students to be responsible, respectful and safe. There is no question that a child's learning increases in direct proportion to a postive learning environment resulting from these high standards.

All staff will teach, model, review and practice the expected behaviors. Please review the expectations with your child. We thank you for your part in our "team" efforts in achieving this goal.
  1. I will be responsible by:
coming to school on time every day
completing all classwork and homework daily to the best of my ability
dressing like a student in our school colors
  2. I will be respectful of:
    myself, staff and others
    school property
    the environment and community
  3. I will be safe by:
following all school rules and authority
    keeping my hands to myself
    walking in hallways
NOT FOLLOWING THE CODE OF CONDUCT WILL RESULT IN:
1st time: A green card is pulled from the chart so that the first warning card shows.
2nd time: The next card is pulled, I will lose recess and write a note for parent signature.
3rd time: The next card is pulled, I will take a note to the office and call my parents notifying
them of my behavior and consequence.
4th time: A fourth card is pulled, I will be sent to the principal, suspended, and my parent
contacted to set up a conference with principal and teacher before I will be
  re-admitted to class.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
I may not bring toys or valuables to school. If I do so, they will be taken from me.
If I bring a cell phone to school it must remain off and packed away until after the
bell rings after school -- or it will be taken away.
If I continually disobey school and classroom rules, I will be excluded from special
school events and/or end of year activities.
I may not arrive to school before 7:50 a.m.
If I continually pull cards for not completing homework, my parents will be asked
to come to school at lunch time to help me with my incomplete work or attend a
conference with the teacher and principal.
Any of the following behaviors will result in SUSPENSION as a consequence:
Being defiant of school authorities or rules
Using threatening or harassing behavior towards anyone at school
Damaging or stealing school property or property of others
Fighting or play fighting at school, or on the way to or from school
Bringing (and/or using) a weapon (or replica weapon), cigarette lighter, matches
or other potentially harmful objects to school
