Instructional Focus

All students at El Cerrito Elementary School will demonstrate growth in the area of reading, including vocabulary development, guided reading strategies for decoding text, reading fluency and comprehension, as measured by formative and summative assessments and state tests. Teachers and staff will learn, create, support and modify research-based instructional strategies to increase achievement for all students.

At El Cerrito Elementary School we provide a foundation for children to become productive citizens through teaching literacy in reading, writing, and math.

Through collaboration and teamwork we will provide a solid foundation to meet each student's individual needs.
Students will become:

All 2nd grade students participated in a 45 minute hands on interactive cooking lesson that concluded with students being able to eat their creation! (more)
