On October 27, the La Habra City School District recognized the contributions of its Classified Staff Members celebrating milestone years of service. This recognition also included naming the Classified Employee of the Year and recognizing all the individuals nominated by their peers.
This year, we were proud to honor Daniel Rodriguez as Classified Employee of the Year. Danny is the head custodian at Sierra Vista and takes great pride in his position and in the many ways he gives back to make a difference for the students.
Annually, the Orange County Department of Education recognizes classified employees for their outstanding service to school districts in the region. LHCSD classified employees moving forward to the County competition in addition to Daniel are: Child Nutrition: Stella Hernandez (Food Transportation Cafeteria worker at Imperial); Office & Technical Service: Sandra Velez (Clerk Typist District Office); Para Educator & Instructional Assistants: Bridgette Gonzalez (Library Technician at Arbolita), and Transportation: Robert Redondo (Mechanic).
Earlier this year Mary Wiedder was named La Habra City School District Teacher of the Year. Mary teaches 5th grade at Sierra Vista and was nominated by her peers because she is an outstanding teacher who goes above and beyond to make a difference for her students. On November 1 Mary was honored at the Orange County Teacher of the Year dinner held at the Disneyland Hotel. |
