A Message from the Principal

Welcome to Arbolita School!   The new school year should be an exciting and successful experience for all of our students.  With our unique configuration focusing on the primary grades (kindergarten through second) we are able to concentrate our efforts on building a strong academic foundation in reading, writing, and math for each student.
The staff at Arbolita shares a desire and commitment to provide our students with the best education possible.
It is our goal for students to become lifelong learners who are responsible citizens, fluent readers, problem solvers, technologically aware and effective communicators.   By working together in a cooperative spirit we expect to achieve wonderful things for our students.
The Arbolita staff embraces the qualities of a Professional Learning Community. For several years ago we have been practicing this philosophy at our school, and we look forward to continuing and improving this concept throughout the school year.  Being a Professional Learning Community school means, our teachers will be meeting regularly to discuss performance of individual students, collaborative discussion of grade level planning and our expectations for student achievement and progress. Our goal is to seek the best in every child and create improvement in academics and student responsibility for positive behavior. As part of our Professional Learning Community emphasis, we look specifically at student academic performance on a daily basis and expectations for students and teachers to show constant responsibility toward this goal.  Students and parents should continue to see increased academic rigor in our curriculum throughout the school year.
We look forward to continuing in the partnership of involvement and support that we have experienced from parents and the community at Arbolita.   It is our hope that each of you visits our school and participates in school events during this school year.
